Aagaard, Jacob
born in 1973, the Danish grandmaster who lives in Scotland has also taken part in both the Scottish and British (1st place in 2007 in his only appearance) championships and even represented Scotland in the chess olympiads of 2006 and 2008. However, Aagaard is much better known as the author of a number of books (including for example the prize-winning Excelling at Chess) and DVDs as well as for his role as co-founder of the chess publishing house Quality Chess. In 2010 he won the ECF Book of the Year award for his Attacking Manuals 1 and 2 which elaborated on his ideas first published in ChessBase DVDs.
